PERSONALITY
Grumpy even on a good day, Talon—or Dragon, before adopting his new name—was once perfectly content slumbering in his cave full of gold and ignoring the world. And make no mistake: Talon's true love is first and foremost all things shiny. Although he cares quite a bit for a certain obnoxious ex-priest, he remains a stereotypical dragon when it comes to craving treasure. He would, however, argue that he earned it, as he dug everything up himself rather than slaughtering would-be heroes.
Talon would, in fact, prefer to avoid heroes, and people in general, as much as possible. Abandoned as a hatchling, a kind old man rescued Talon at birth and raised him as his own. But one day, the man left Talon behind, then returned... as a corpse, the sight of which scarred him forever. During that time, searching desperately for him, Talon learned how cruel and ruthless humans could be. The young, sweet, innocent hatchling was no more.
Since that traumatic incident, Talon closed off his heart. Jaded, irritable, and all around unpleasant, calling Talon curmudgeonly would be a serious understatement. He's quick to scowl and even quicker to push others away, especially humans. Curiously, Talon isn't particularly violent; it seems to be his absolute last resort in most cases, even if he won't hesitate to defend himself or his treasure. He can, and will, injure and kill if driven to extremes.
Yet despite a painful past, and beneath those gruffer layers, there is someone undeniably good. Anyone lucky enough—and patient enough—to win Talon's favor will find a friend for life. Diligent, industrious, and determined, Talon sees any task through, no matter how difficult. He can be convinced to lend a claw to a righteous cause, and even show affection to those he trusts... which may or may not include an irresistible ex-priest.

As with all dragons, Talon is capable of breathing fire. He uses it offensively, defensively... and to cook some awesome barbecue.

With powerful wings and tough stamina, Talon can fly anywhere at will.
